Göteborg Half Marathon is organised on the afternoon of a Saturday in May (16th in 2009), which means great running conditions and a great opportunity to explore the city, both during and after the race.

Göteborg offers the charm of a small town and the opportunities of a big city with museums, a fantastic amusement park (with free entry for all runners during the race weekend), good food and a lot of different activities.

The city is well known for the organisation of sports events, as Euro 92 in football, the World Athletics Championships in 1995, UEFA Cup final and in 2006 European Championships in athletics.
